Fairport Cooperative has decided to close its market stall on Saturday 29th August and put all our efforts into pop up stalls at local events, and campaigning on the issues which are important to us. Our ethical values remain unchanged - we'll now find new ways to promote them. We have loved running the stall for 2+ years - we've learnt loads and met so many inspirational people, both customers and those who've come forward to volunteer. Alas, it doesn't earn enough to ease the enormous effort it takes to run a full-time stall largely on voluntary effort. Thanks for being involved with Fairport so far, and if you'd like to continue to be informed of our activities - or if you'd like to join us - contact: info@fairport.coop or 07941896262. Fairport lives on. We're all really looking forward to our next phase. Fairport Team

Find us at Plymouth City Market, Stall 99, 6 days a week, Monday - Saturday 9.30 - 4.30pm and 9.30 - 3.30pm on Wednesdays.

We sell fairtraded, cruelty free, organic and non- organic food and household products.

We launched in the spring of 2013 with our retail service in Plymouth city centre, selling food and household products.

Our education and campaigning arm is a core Fairport function, and so is launched alongside the retail service: from the outset, we participate in and, where necessary, lead discussion and debate on issues of global social justice.

We take the topics into schools and colleges, we maintain a strong media presence, and we discuss with our customers what we do and why we do it.

We believe – just as our parents told us when we were so young – that “life’s not fair”.

But we believe equally that human beings are – that there is a deep human sensitivity to fairness, and that we fare far better in a fairer community, society and world.

Fairport is a contribution to the efforts to create a fairer and sustainable world.
